10/25 Vineyard Fall Fest
Kids and kids-at-heart are invited to join us for the Vineyard Fall Fest on Sunday, October 25, 12:30-3:00pm at Pen Park. We’ll start with a potluck (bring a favorite fall dish to share) and then have an afternoon of fall fun, including a treasure hunt, three-legged race, pumpkin decorating, donut eating contest, prizes, and more! It’ll be a blast for kids and adults. Feel free to invite non-Vineyard families to attend!
We’re looking for 4-5 event volunteers to help with games and activities. If you can help, please contact Anna.
11/15 Vineyard Village
We have all heard the phrase "It takes a village" when it comes to raising kids. But so few parents have the local support they need to genuinely feel like part of a village. Why not create a "village" right here in our faith community at Charlottesville Vineyard Church? The Vineyard Village is a casual monthly hangout for parents and parents-to-be to connect and support each other as we grow families of faith. There will be relaxed conversation while children play. The Vineyard Village is geared to parents of children elementary age or younger, but welcome to everyone. The first meeting will be Sunday, November 15, in the front fenced-in playground at Tall Oaks Elementary. Come as you are!
11/22 Prayer Ministry Training
Walk with God’s people by developing the practice of praying for others. Build the skill of hearing from God. Learn simple methods to effectively pay attention to what God is doing and join him in that work. Explore the means and methods of prayer that Jesus modeled and taught his disciples.
This training is a prerequisite for serving on Vineyard’s prayer ministry team on Sunday mornings, but is also a great opportunity for anyone who wants to serve others through prayer.
The training will be Sunday, November 22, 1:30-3:30pm at the church office. For more information, contact Audrey.
11/22 Gifts of the Holy Spirit Class
Have you ever witnessed someone doing something they’re so good at that you can’t help but think, “they’re made for this?” Have you ever wondered how God uniquely created you? In 1 Corinthians 12 Paul taught about the spiritual gifts. He said, “Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.” All of us have God-given purpose… and all followers of Jesus have been given spiritual gifts to help us live out that purpose. In this Spiritual Gifts workshop, you’ll explore one aspect of living out our purpose… the gifts of the Spirit. You’ll learn what they are, how they’re intended to be utilized and explore what your specific gifts are.
