Backstory
When we want to know someone, we ask about their story. Where did this person come from? What were his/her early life experiences? As we learn their backstory, we build depth to our relationship. In the book of Deuteronomy, we meet God as He is establishing His people in their new land. God tells His people that He loves them and that He will establish them as a great nation. He will provide for them, care for them, protect and guide them. In this series, we’re looking at the nature and work of God through the establishment of that relationship between God and Israel. Who God was then tells us who God is today. What God was like then tells us what God is like today.
